Dr. Xueying Shao received the BS in Biosciences from BEI Shizhang Elite Class at University of Science and Technology of China in 2015. She later obtained her PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Hong Kong in 2020 under the supervision of Prof. Yuan Lin. She continued her research on cell mechanics particularly on neural mechanics as a Postdoctoral Fellow and currently a Research Assistant Professor in Department of Mechanical Engineering at HKU.

Dr. Shao’s research interests include neural mechanics, neuron communication, and cellular and tissue mechanics.
