Professor Anderson Ho Cheung Shum, Professor of the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Associate Vice-President (Research and Innovation) of the University, was appointed as President of The Hong Kong Young Academy of Sciences (YASHK) after the Executive Committee of HKYAS had appointed the second term of members.
The Hong Kong Young Academy of Sciences is a chapter of The Hong Kong Academy of Sciences. It was established in 2018 to promote the development of science and technology among young scientists in Hong Kong. The founding President of YASHK is former HKU Vice-Chancellor Professor Lap-Chee Tsui.
