Abstract:

Various diseases could lead to disability. Stroke is now the number third killer in Hong Kong. Those who survived after a stroke usually suffer from different degrees of disability that affects an individual’s independence. Besides disease, traffic accidents could also result in disability for an individual. Inability to walk as usual has an impact on an individual’s confidence as well as independence. Furthermore, it increases the burden for the social care. This lower-limb prosthetic knee platform aims to enhance the mobility of these disabled people by developing advanced artificial intelligence techniques (deep learning and deep reinforcement learning) combined with clinical tests.
