Abstract:

The global energy system is transitioning at an increasing pace, driving largely by climate change concerns this time, towards a low-carbon future, with varied momentum across different regions. Hydrogen has been an important part of the discussion in the transition over the past 2-3 decades and its projected and potential impact evolving alongside advancements of other technologies, leading to significant debates and some confusion. This talk will explore the changing landscape of the global energy system transition and offer insights into the current status of hydrogen, as well as its potential role in this ongoing transition.


Biography:

Dr. Guo is currently Program Director for Corporate Relations at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Prior to his joining MIT ~9 years ago,  he had over three decades of industrial experience in research and development, industrialization and management with leading multinational enterprises (Shell, Air Liquide, BOC) in the space of energy systems, renewables and hydrogen, in mostly the US but also China, EU and Canada.
