Abstract:
Triboelectric nanogenerators (TENG) harvest energy based on contact electrification. It has been used for micro/nano powers sources, passive sensors, human-computer interaction, and so on. Due to the large and replenishable contact surface in liquid, liquid-based TENG promises improved efficiency. In this presentation, we will introduce liquid-based TENG and the corresponding theories of contact electrification at the liquid interface. Based on the new understanding of liquid-liquid contact electrification, we accordingly demonstrate a liquid-liquid TENG, showing the potential of all-liquid systems in distributed green energy and self-powered sensors.
