Ziming Chen received his B.Sc. (2013) and Ph.D. (2018) from South China University of Technology, where he also worked as a postdoctoral researcher (2018–2021). He joined Imperial College London as a research associate in 2021 and became a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellow in 2022. In 2025, he was appointed Research Assistant Professor at the University of Hong Kong.
His research focuses on perovskite and organic optoelectronic devices, alongside advanced ultrafast spectroscopy. He specialises in transient spectroscopy techniques (e.g., pump-push-photocurrent, pump-push-surface photovoltage, pump-push-probe, and pump-probe), photophysics, device physics, as well as device and material engineering. Ziming Chen has authored 35 papers in journals such as Joule, Nature Communications, Reports on Progress in Physics, Matter, iScience, and Advanced Materials., with an H-index of 30 and over 4,400 citations.
