Professor Anderson Shum selected as a new member of the Global Young Academy (GYA) effective from June 2021 for a tenure of five years.
Each GYA application was evaluated by at least three Selection Committee members in two successive rounds of reviews, and were scored, first and foremost, based on the excellence of their scientific research, as well as on their demonstrated societal engagement.
GYA gives a voice to young scientists around the world. To realise their vision, they develop, connect, and mobilise young talent from six continents. Moreover, they empower young researchers to lead international, interdisciplinary, and inter-generational dialogue with the goal to make global decision making evidence-based and inclusive.
