William Mong Distinguished Lecture: From Bench to Business: Innovations in Electrochemical technology for the Low Carbon Energy Transition

Professor Nigel Brandon OBE FREng FRS, Chair in Sustainable Development in Energy and Dean of Engineering at Imperial College London, delivered the William Mong Distinguished Lecture titled “From Bench to Business: Innovations in Electrochemical Technology for the Low Carbon Energy Transition” on November 12, 2024. The lecture was facilitated by Professor Dennis Leung of the Department of Mechanical Engineering.


During the lecture, Professor Nigel Brandon delved into the vital role of electrochemical technology in the transition to low carbon energy systems, enabling highly efficient conversion between molecules and electrons while providing solutions for electricity storage to balance renewable energy generation. He also shared insights from his journey of transforming electrochemical technology from university laboratories into viable products across various applications.
