Air Pollution

Hong Kong’s prosperity has brought a high standard of living but also significant environmental challenges. Much of the pollution stems from power generation, energy consumption (such as in power plants and vehicles), and large-scale infrastructure projects, which demand solutions from environmental engineers. Under the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Ordinance, all major engineering projects must undergo comprehensive environmental evaluations before approval. As a result, there is a growing need for mechanical engineers with expertise in modern energy production, conversion systems, and environmental sustainability.
