Dr. Nan CHEN currently works as a Research Assistant Professor in the Mechatronics and Robotic Systems Lab (MaRS Lab) at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, The University of Hong Kong. He obtained his B.Eng. degree in Automation and M.Eng. degree in Control Theory and Control Engineering, both from Shenzhen University, with research focusing on planar motor systems and sensor-less control techniques. Then, he shifted his research to Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) and obtained his Ph.D. degree in Robotics from the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Hong Kong. Dr. Chen’s research interests include: (1) Design of novel UAV platforms; (2) Autonomous navigation; (3) Model-based and learning-based control and planning; (4) End-to-end aerial manipulation.
